Concert at the Monastery of Villanueva de Oscos
Festival ADAR 2025 arrived at the Monastery of Santa María de Villanueva de Oscos, a recently restored site that unveiled new roofing in 2024 after an ambitious conservation project. The Romanesque church and the monastery’s austere surroundings offered an exceptional setting for a chamber concert with the festival’s soloists.
The programme brought together three complementary musical worlds: Telemann’s Baroque refinement, Falla’s stylised folklore, and Mussorgsky’s sonic painting. Through this range of aesthetics, the concert created a dialogue across eras, styles, and ways of storytelling, highlighting the ensemble’s rich palette of timbres and the shared listening between performers.
