ADAR 2025 Festival launches the first Contest of Hórreos and Paneras as chamber music stages

The ADAR Festival, which will celebrate its fifth edition from August 4 to 17, 2025, launches a new initiative that unites music, tradition and citizen participation: the Hórreos y Paneras 2025 Contest.

The objective is to select three unique hórreos or paneras in Asturias that will be transformed into unique stages for chamber music concerts during the festival. The first prize will also receive a cash award of 500 €.

To facilitate the participation of people from rural areas, the festival has simplified the registration process as much as possible. There is no need to fill out complex forms:
Simply send an email to leiguardamusic@gmail.com or a WhatsApp to 663 604 030 with:

• Several photos of the hórreo or panera (general view, detail and surroundings).

• Location (town or coordinates)

• A brief description or personal commentary on the history or uniqueness of the space.

The call will be open until June 30, 2025. Participation is open to individuals, associations or entities that have hórreos or paneras in good condition and with safe access for artists and the public.

"We want to bring culture closer to the villages and at the same time highlight the value of our rural architectural heritage. This call is a simple and direct way to connect music with the memory of the territory," explains Guillermo Laporta, artistic director of the ADAR Festival.

The selection will be based on criteria such as architectural value, surroundings, feasibility to hold a concert and territorial diversity.
