Composer in Residence 2026 - Official Terms
Please review the following guidelines before submitting your application.
1. Festival Dates
Festival ADAR 2026 will take place from August 3 to August 16, 2026 in rural Asturias, Spain. The selected composer will have a featured performance during the festival.
2. Residency Structure
The residency may take place in person, hybrid, or fully virtual. In-person residency periods may occur during June, July, or August 2026. Exact dates will be determined after the selection process.
3. Creative Framework
ADAR will perform (a) a new work composed during the residency, (b) an existing work by the composer, or (c) a combination of both. Instrumentation and repertoire will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
4. Eligibility
This call is open to composers of any nationality and country of residence. All musical aesthetics and compositional approaches are welcome.
5. Support Provided
Featured performance during Festival ADAR 2026, rehearsal time, and documentation. For in-person or hybrid residencies: accommodation and daily meals at the ADAR headquarters during the residency period, plus up to €800 in travel support.
6. Required Materials
CV, website or portfolio link, and links to two works (audio or video). Applicants should indicate their availability (June, July, August 2026) and preferred format (in person, hybrid, or virtual).
7. Administrative Fee
A non-refundable €20 administrative fee is required to submit an application through the official portal.
8. Key Dates
