Leiguarda 47

A house for music, creation, and artistic life in rural Asturias.

Belmonte de Miranda, Asturias Residencies / Concerts / Creation

The Place

Where ADAR lives and works

Leiguarda 47 is the permanent home of Festival ADAR. A restored village house in the mountains of western Asturias where artists come to rehearse, compose, record, collaborate, and share their work with a local audience. Everything happens under one roof: sleeping, cooking, practicing, thinking, performing.

The House

One building, many lives

Not a concert hall. Not a hotel. Leiguarda 47 is a working house where artistic creation and daily life share the same space. Residents live together, eat together, and build projects side by side.

Spaces

Built for focused, flexible work

Rehearsal and Concert Room

The main room holds a grand piano and works as both rehearsal space and intimate performance venue. Chamber music, interdisciplinary rehearsals, readings, and small concerts all happen here.

Studio and Work Areas

Dedicated zones for composing, editing, digital production, and project planning. The house is equipped with projectors, creative software, audio capture tools, and high-speed fiber internet.

Living Quarters

Bedrooms, a shared kitchen, common areas, and terraces. Living on site means the conversation never stops and collaboration happens naturally, between sessions, over meals, on evening walks.

Outdoor Spaces

Terraces, village paths, and the surrounding mountain landscape. The outside is not separate from the work. Walking, listening, and simply being in this place shape the creative process.

Residency Life

A shared rhythm

At Leiguarda 47, artists live and create in close proximity. The structure is simple: mornings for focused work, afternoons for rehearsal and exchange, evenings for reflection and informal conversation. Mentors, collaborators, and the ADAR team are all part of the daily fabric.

Public Moments

Small concerts, close listening

The headquarters hosts intimate performances, open rehearsals, work-in-progress sharings, and talks. The scale is deliberate: a few dozen seats, direct contact between artists and audience, music heard up close. Projects developed in residence find their first public life right here.

The Territory

Silence, landscape, scale

Leiguarda is a village of fewer than twenty inhabitants in the mountains of Belmonte de Miranda. The quiet, the slow pace, and the distance from urban life are not incidental. They are the conditions that make a different kind of artistic work possible.

What Happens Here

From first ideas to finished work

Residencies

Extended stays for composers, performers, and interdisciplinary artists. Time to develop new work, test ideas, rehearse intensively, and refine projects before they travel further.

Documentation and Production

Video, photography, audio recording, and digital production. Work made at Leiguarda 47 is captured and prepared to circulate beyond the residency itself.

Mentorship and Exchange

One-on-one feedback, collective sessions, and informal conversation between artists, mentors, and the ADAR team. The house is built for dialogue.

Community Connection

Open sessions, local encounters, and connections with nearby villages and heritage sites. The headquarters is a starting point for cultural work that reaches into the wider territory.

Facilities

What the house provides

Equipment

Grand piano, projectors, monitors, creative software, audio and video recording tools, high-speed fiber internet for remote collaboration and streaming.

Accommodation

On-site bedrooms, shared kitchen, and common living areas. All meals and daily life are integrated into the residency experience.

Accessibility

Key spaces can be organized at ground level, including the rehearsal room, kitchen, and bathroom. ADAR plans individually with each resident to address access needs in advance.

Sustainability

Concentrating everything in one place reduces transport, simplifies logistics, and keeps the environmental footprint low. Local sourcing and reuse of existing resources are part of how the house operates.

Come

A place shaped by listening, hospitality, and time
