Sarah K. Williams Installation at the Tourist Office (Grado)
Visual artist Sarah K. Williams, based in New York and guest artist of the 2024 edition of the ADAR Festival, transformed a disused cubicle at the Grado Tourist Office into an artwork that integrated food as part of the piece, offering attendees an experience that transcended the visual.
The glass box of the former Grado Tourist Office had been unused for years. Sarah K. Williams reclaimed it as an exhibition space, transformando su interior en una instalación que desafiaba los límites entre arte, gastronomía y espacio público. La pieza incorporaba alimentos que los asistentes podían degustar, convirtiéndose así en participantes activos de la obra.
Esta intervención formaba parte de una noche en la que Grado acogió tres eventos simultáneos del Festival ADAR: el concierto en el Palacio de Miranda-Valdecarzana, esta instalación y una performance en la Capilla de los Dolores. Williams's proposal demonstrated the festival's capacity to activate forgotten urban spaces and generate unexpected encounters between art and community.
