Sarah K. Williams Installation at the Tourist Office (Grado)

Visual artist Sarah K. Williams, based in New York and guest artist of the 2024 edition of the ADAR Festival, transformed a disused cubicle at the Grado Tourist Office into an artwork that integrated food as part of the piece, offering attendees an experience that transcended the visual.

The glass box of the former Grado Tourist Office had been unused for years. Sarah K. Williams reclaimed it as an exhibition space, transforming its interior into an installation that challenged the boundaries between art, gastronomy and public space. The piece incorporated food that visitors could taste, thereby becoming active participants in the work.

This intervention was part of an evening in which Grado hosted three simultaneous events of the ADAR Festival: the concert at the Palacio de Miranda-Valdecarzana, this installation, and a performance at the Capilla de los Dolores. Williams's proposal demonstrated the festival's capacity to activate forgotten urban spaces and generate unexpected encounters between art and community.
