Artistic research and site-specific creation · Music and installation collective focused on the relationship between soundscape and territory
Menhir is an artistic collective formed by artist Coco Moya and musician Iván Cebrián. Their joint work combines music, installation and itinerant projects around the concept of geopuncture: the idea that music can act as a virtual menhir that reconfigures the relationship between the human and the non-human. Their research explores modes of listening and knowledge as a way to rethink the habitability of the territory, examining the symbiosis between music and landscape —in particular the Asturian landscape. Their releases include the LP Geomantic Works (2022, Piano and Coffee Records), Just Before Silence with Suso Saiz (2021), the single Osiris (2021) and Music for Mountain (2016). They have presented their work at the Reina Sofía Museum, CentroCentro Cibeles, the Spanish Academy in Rome, La Casa Encendida, the National Archaeological Museum and LABoral Centro de Arte.
