Guest artist · Historical performance of theorbo and Baroque repertoire
Nacho Laguna is a theorbist, guitarist and sound artist specialising in early music, born in Monzón (Huesca). He discovered the theorbo while studying classical guitar in Zaragoza. He trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Andalucía, the Universität der Künste in Berlin and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. He is the founder of Acciaccatura Ensemble, Ballarte Ensemble and the Ballarte Festival. He collaborates with leading ensembles in Baroque repertoire such as Gli Incogniti, Artaserse, Les Musiciens du Louvre, I Gemelli, La Ritirata, Le Consort and Il Pomo d'Oro, and with soloists such as Amandine Beyer, Philippe Jaroussky, Théotime Langlois de Swarte and Christina Pluhar. He has performed at venues such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Royal Opera of Versailles, Tokyo Opera City and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. His discography includes recordings for Harmonia Mundi, Aparte, Naïve and Warner Classics. His debut album, Ferrarese (2023), received five diapasons from Diapason magazine.
