Under the vaults of Villanueva de Oscos
6th edition · ADAR on the Road. A quintet with flute and piano under the vaults of the Cistercian monastery of Santa María de Villanueva de Oscos, founded in the 12th century.
Maria Florea (violin), Lara Fernández (viola), Daniel Claret (cello), Guillermo Laporta (flute) and Josefina Urraca (piano) brought classical and contemporary repertoire together in a 12th-century nave: Devin Cholodenko’s “Twilight at Dawn”, the Andante sostenuto from Schubert’s String Trio, Joan Magrané’s Andante sostenuto —co-commissioned by L’Auditori de Barcelona—, Brahms’s Piano Quartet No. 3 op. 60 and two movements from Dvořák’s Quintet op. 81.
