Closing · Quintet and espicha

6th edition. The festival’s finale in the parish church of Leiguarda: a quintet from Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Ravel, Ligeti and David Lang to a traditional mazurka — and then, an open espicha for everyone.

Frederieke Saeijs (violin), Natania Hoffman (cello), Žilvinas Brazauskas (clarinet), Guillermo Laporta (flute) and Josefina Urraca (piano) closed the 6th edition with a programme running from David Lang’s “sweet air” and Vivaldi’s Concerto VII (arr. Bach) to Mendelssohn’s Konzertstück, Brahms’s Clarinet Trio, Ravel’s “Ma mère l’Oye” and Ligeti’s “Musica Ricercata”, ending with a traditional mazurka. Afterwards, an espicha (Asturian cider gathering) for everyone in the church grounds: the long night that sends off the festival.
