The ADAR Festival will begin in Llanes with a concert at the Monasterio de San Antolín
The fourth edition of the ADAR Festival, running from 8 to 18 August, will open its touring programme in Llanes with a concert at the Monasterio de San Antolín de Bedón on Monday 12 August at 19:30.
The festival celebrates the arts in rural areas through classical and contemporary music. The performers include the violinist Jone de la Fuente, the violist Almudena Rivas, the cellist Natania Hoffman, the pianists Mario Molina and Josefina Urraca, and the flautist Guillermo Laporta. The programme features works by Mozart, Debussy, Vivaldi, and the contemporary composer Andrea Casarrubios.
ADAR promotes access to high-quality culture by encouraging community involvement and revitalising cultural life in rural Asturian enclaves.
The festival operates through two main components: an artistic residency in Leiguarda and “ADAR en Ruta”, which brings its projects to different rural communities. Among the venues are the Monasterio de Cornellana and the Palacio Miranda-Valdecarzana. The programme also includes installations, sound walks, and concerts in hórreos. All activities are free to attend until capacity is reached.
