A ‘sound walk’ through La Caridad to bring music and art to the village
The María Cristina park and the As Quintas auditorium host the travelling festival ADAR, which aims to “revitalise rural areas”.
Residents and visitors took part in the ‘sound walk’ that the Festival ADAR offered this Wednesday in María Cristina Park, in La Caridad. A travelling proposal that, with the collaboration of the municipality of El Franco, brings chamber music to the square, to the bench and to the tree.
The initiative, led by the musicians Guillermo Laporta and Josefina Urraca from their base in Leiguarda (Belmonte de Miranda), stops these days in El Franco with the As Quintas Auditorium as its second venue. ADAR thus completes its third edition, expanding the map of Asturian municipalities that receive quality contemporary programming.
The organisers stress the proximity-focused nature of the proposal: “We are not looking for the concept of a summer festival that draws people from everywhere. We aim to revitalise and activate the rural territory itself, involving the local population in it.”
