The ADAR Festival expands from Belmonte to Grado, Colunga and El Franco
The ADAR Festival of Arts in Rural Areas expands its route across Asturian municipalities, bringing classical music and visual art to Grado, El Franco and Colunga alongside its base in Belmonte de Miranda.
The initiative, founded by the flautist Guillermo Laporta and the pianist Josefina Urraca in collaboration with the New York ensemble CreArtBox, brings together international soloists for this edition: the violinist Jone de la Fuente, the violist Almudena Arribas and the Italian-American cellist Natania Hoffman.
The project aspires to revitalise rural areas through cultural initiatives of international impact, to bring music and the arts to the rural population, to promote the use of unconventional spaces, to encourage rural tourism through culture and to educate the coming generations.
The programme includes sound walks, concerts and art installations with a repertoire that spans eras: Granados, Turina and Arvo Pärt, among others. The activities ran from 4 to 13 August 2023 at various locations. Free admission until capacity is reached.
