4th edition · ADAR en Ruta
Sound walks and concerts in Grado, Salas, Somiedo and Belmonte
From 8 to 18 August 2024, the ADAR Festival holds its fourth edition, offering a cultural experience that blends the beauty of rural Asturias with contemporary artistic expression.
Organised by the Association for the Development of the Arts in Rural Areas, the festival features musicians and artists with international careers. It is structured around two main strands: the Artist Residency in Leiguarda (Belmonte de Miranda) and the Festival ADAR en Ruta, a travelling component that brings classical and contemporary music to various rural communities across Asturias.
The programme brings together Jone de la Fuente (violin), Almudena Rivas (viola), Natania Hoffman (cello), Mario Molina (piano), Guillermo Laporta (flute) and Josefina Urraca (piano), with a repertoire that includes works by Mozart, Debussy, Vivaldi and contemporary composers.
The highlights of the 2024 route:
- Thursday 8 — Grado. Opening with art installations.
- Tuesday 13 — Salas. Concert at the Monastery of San Salvador (20:00).
- Wednesday 14 — Pola de Somiedo. Concert at the Market (20:00).
- Sunday 18 — Leiguarda. Open-air closing concert with an art installation, the participation of the dancers Rebeca Martín Tassis and Izar Gayo, and a get-together with cider and empanada (21:30).
