Interview · Josefina Urraca
The ADAR Festival with Josefina Urraca
Driven by the desire to champion rural areas through the living arts, the festival holds its new edition with concerts, talks and sound walks.
El Ojo Crítico, the cultural magazine programme of Radio Nacional, devoted a segment to the Festival ADAR, in the words of Josefina Urraca, co-director of the project.
In the interview, Urraca recounts how the initiative came about: two musicians living between New York and Asturias decide, during the pandemic, to settle in Leiguarda and launch a travelling festival of classical music and living arts. The conversation covers the model of artistic residencies at the home base, the commitment to commissioning new work from contemporary composers, and the format of the sound walks that bring chamber music to the village square.
The full broadcast, running a little over seven minutes, is available in the RTVE podcast archive.
