Sound walk at the Museo de las Ayalgas (Belmonte de Miranda)
The Museo de las Ayalgas in Silviella, one of the area's major cultural attractions, hosted ADAR Festival musicians for a sound walk where historic artefacts of rural life blended with the music of Bach and Mozart.
The Museo de las Ayalgas, located in Silviella (Belmonte de Miranda), houses a singular collection of objects that document rural life in Asturias over the centuries. Among iconic cars and motorcycles, 18th-century cradles and farming tools, the musicians of the ADAR Festival spread out across the rooms to offer a sound walk that created unexpected dialogues between material heritage and live music.
The proposed route invited the audience to discover the museum in a radically different way. Bach's suites for solo instruments resonated among the vintage vehicles, while Mozart's Flute Quartet closed the walk with a collective performance. The juxtaposition of everyday objects from the past with live chamber music generated a sensory experience that activated the historical memory of the place.
