Sound walk at the Palacio Fontela (Grado)

With the desire to bring classical music to unique settings and breathe life into historic rooms, the ADAR Festival presented a sound walk at the Ethnographic Museum of the Palacio Fontela. Musicians performed surrounded by antique furniture and an apothecary from bygone eras.

The Ethnographic Museum of the Palacio Fontela, with its rooms full of objects narrating everyday life in Grado over the centuries, was transformed into an unexpected stage for chamber music. The musicians of the ADAR Festival spread out across the museum's various rooms, inviting the audience to wander among the historic pieces while discovering, in every corner, a musical intervention.

The combination of material heritage and live sound created a complete sensory experience: Bach's suites resonated alongside centuries-old furniture, and Mozart's Flute Quartet found in the palace's architecture an intimate, enveloping acoustic. The sound walk format, which the festival would go on to develop in subsequent editions, demonstrated here its capacity to activate heritage spaces and generate new connections between music, history, and territory.
