Voice, electronics and sound creation · Sound and visual artist focused on landscape as score, geomancy and technology applied to territory
Coco Moya (Gijón, 1982) is an artist and musician whose work sits at the intersection of sound, territory and technology. A graduate in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (2008), she did an Erasmus at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and completed a master's degree in Art and Creation Research (2015), with a thesis titled Geomancia Sonora, el Paisaje como Partitura (Sound Geomancy, the Landscape as Score). Her practice, which she describes as paleocybernetic, interprets the landscape as a sound score, with interests in speculative topology, the Anthropocene and geomancy. She develops projects with musician Iván Cebrián —Cloudwatchers, The Water Meditation, Lapis Specularis and Menhir. She coordinates the Encuentros Sonoros series at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UCM and co-directs El Cubo Verde. She has received the Etopía prize in Zaragoza, the Claves grant of the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation and the LABjoven Los Bragales award, and has been an artist in residence at Casa de Velázquez, the Añana Salt Valley and, since 2025, at LABoral Centro de Arte.
